Trivia for Fundraisers and Entertainment

Fundraising trivia night funI can provide Trivia Night entertainment for various types of events including church, school and other fund raisings, private organizations, and private parties. Depending on your needs and time schedule, you can choose from different trivia formats.

Fundraiser – The time frame of your evening is determined by a number of factors. The number of questions per round and the number of rounds will determine how long your evening will last. A round with 5-8 questions will last approximately 15 – 20 minutes. A round with 10 questions will last about 25 – 30 minutes. In that time frame the questions are read, the answer sheets are collected, and grading is started, and the questions are reviewed with the answers given, before the next round is started.

In an effort to make the most of your fundraising experience, I can offer several other money making ideas:

  • Mulligans – these vary in price and number of your choice. These are used as a “free” correct answer in each round. 10 for $10.00 is common.
  • Heads or Tails – This is an elimination game. Players stand and guess the outcome of the flip of a coin. If they are incorrect, they sit. The last person standing is declared the winner. The cost to play the game is your choice. By-Ron entertainment will supply the prize. $1.00 per person in common.
  • Head-to-Head Bonus (NEW) – This game is played twice. It is one question, usually worth 4 points. Pick a player on your team (the player cannot be used for both bonus questions). The points earned will be added to your team score. The question is optional for each team. The cost for each question is your choice. This varies from $1.00 to $5.00 per table.
  • Dead or Alive – This is an elimination game. I will read the name of a sports, entertainer, or famous person. Players stand and guess if that individual is alive or has passed away by giving a predetermined sign. If they are incorrect, they sit. The last person standing is declared the winner. The cost to play the game is your choice. Your group will supply the prize. $1.00 per person is common.
  • Scavenger Hunt – This is a Team game. I will read a list of items. Each team will search their pockets or purses for those items. The team with the most items is declared the winner. The cost to play the game is your choice. Your group will supply the prize. This varies from $5.00 to $20.00 per table.
  • Survivor – This is a team elimination game. Teams buy in to this game at the beginning of the night. They are given a “Survivor Marker” which identifies them as a player. One question in each round is marked as a “Survivor Question”. If a playing team answers this question incorrectly, they are eliminated. The last remaining team is declared the winner. The cost to play the game is your choice. Your group will supply the prize. This varies from $5.00 to $20.00 per table.
  • Basket Raffle – Items and/or theme baskets are placed on tables with labeled containers for each. Guests purchase tickets in given increments. One or more tickets are put in the container(s) of their choice. By-Ron Entertainment will supply you with a basket or gift certificate worth over $150.00 which can be placed in the group of your choice.
  • Silent Auction – Items and/or baskets are placed on tables with “bid” sheets for each. Guests write their name with a given bid (usually in increments of $5.00) until the end of the auction time limit. By-Ron Entertainment will supply you with either a giveaway basket or gift certificate worth over $150.00.
  • Sponsorships – Use your volunteers to get companies or individuals to purchase an advertising space on one or more of the Trivia Rounds. I can take a scan of a business card or letterhead and put those on a panel before, during and after each round. Suggested purchase amounts can range from $25.00 to $100.00 or an amount of your choosing. It is quick and easy cash to cover most expenses.
  • By-Ron Entertainment will be open to any other suggested game or money raiser.

By-Ron Entertainment will provide:

  • Double ticket roles for 50/50 and all other raffles
  • Team answer sheets
  • Judges answers sheets
  • Pens and scratch pads
  • Projectors and screen
  • Sound system

To cut down on expenses, I suggest your origination has volunteers for Runners and/or Judges. Another option for runners is that each table will be responsible to “run” their answer sheet to the judges table. If volunteers are limited, By-Ron Entertainment will provide judges (1 for every 5 tables) and runners for a small fee.

I will send you a questionnaire for you to fill out and return. The questionnaire is to gather information about your event and allow you to choose the types of questions you would like to have for the age group you are focusing on. Special topics or categories can be given and the proper research will be done to create questions.

Pricing is as follows:

  • Set-up and break-down – $27.00
  • 1 to 6 tables (minimum charge) – $78.00
  • For EACH table over 6 – $9.00 each
  • Runners and judges fee is negotiable

Bar Trivia – The trivia questions and answers are through a Power Point presentation. The time frame of your evening is agreed upon by management. From experience I have tailored the number of questions per round and the number of rounds for a two to two and a half hour evening. The evening consists of 6 rounds with 5 questions in each round. Also between rounds 2 and 4 there is a bonus question to add to the competitive nature of the evening. In that time frame the questions are read, the answer sheets are collected and grading is done. The questions are then reviewed with the answers given, before the next round is started.

The team with the highest score is the winner. The prizes given throughout the evening and as the final award are determined by the management.
